Do you know what I mean? There is so much to lose.An ill-timed storm on Christmas Eve buries the residents of Gracetown under multiple feet of snow and causes quite a bit of chaos.

“I always had this idea that you should never give up a happy middle in the hopes of a happy ending, because there is no such thing as a happy ending. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to authors and novel themes and some preferred Greens’ story to Myracles’ but I personally think each story is wonderfully written and not just a perfect read for winter but for every season. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews about this novel but I guess each to their own. I thought the ending was written cleverly as it can be difficult to connect characters and make them interact but Myracle succeeded in achieving interconnectedness between characters (which is the mind-blowing part). She proves her friends wrong and the story wraps up with all the characters from each story gathering in Starbucks and end up talking to each other. To help her friend and prove she isn’t self-absorbed she must pick up her friend’s tea cup piglet and bring it to her. The third and final story, The Patron Saint of Pigs by Lauren Myracle is about a girl named Abbie who broke up with her doting boyfriend who still loves her even though she hurt him. It made me really happy because the romance seemed like a long time coming. The unexpected twist of romance left me like: This embarks an insane voyage through the snow where two of the friends find love and realize there is more to life than cheerleaders and hash browns. The second story, The Cheertastic Christmas Miracle by John Green is about three friends who must race to the Waffle House through a blizzard to get to the cheerleaders spending the night there. It’s a brilliant, witty start to the novel and I think Johnson wrote the first section very well. Various events stop Jubliee’s trip to Florida but when she meets Stuart, his crazy little sister and overprotective mum who’s aiming to set them up, events change. The first story, The Jubilee Express, is the tale of teenager Jubliee and her sudden romance whilst travelling to Florida for Christmas.

I hadn’t read any of their material before but since reading Let It Snow I’m going to be buying all of their books! I was also very impressed with the writing from Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle.

That’s not a problem (obviously) but it’s a problem when you become so connected to the characters that you want them to be your best friends. I’m a sucker for John Green, he’s one of my favourite authors so I’ve taken it upon myself to read every book ever written by him. This book is mind-blowing, in such a beautiful way. Thanks to three of today’s bestselling teen authors-John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle-the magic of the holidays shines on these hilarious and charming interconnected tales of love, romance, and breathtaking kisses.” Or that the way back to true love begins with a painfully early morning shift at Starbucks. And no one would think that a trip to the Waffle House through four feet of snow would lead to love with an old friend. After all, a cold and wet hike from a stranded train through the middle of nowhere would not normally end with a delicious kiss from a charming stranger. A Christmas Eve snowstorm transforms one small town into a romantic haven, the kind you see only in movies. “Sparkling white snowdrifts, beautiful presents wrapped in ribbons, and multicolored lights glittering in the night through the falling snow.
